Role: Digital Executive
· I restore and sell vintage watches, lighters, bags and shoes.
· I created a card trick that has been performed by card magicians.
· I can get both legs behind my head.
A good portion of my time is spent online gaming with friends from school which is my favourite way to stay social from underneath a duvet! If the internet ever cuts out (or if I’m losing too many games) a pack of playing cards or a book full of sudoku puzzles are never far away! I often meet up with friends in the evening with the usual destination being Burger King which is a nice place to sit and natter over a burger.
I love all sorts of music ranging from the 50’s to the present day. I’m not a big lover of doing things in silence, so if Bob Marley or Dion Dimucci aren’t keeping me entertained, then a podcast host will be! I’m interested in a range of topics from ancient architecture to current social issues but whatever the topic is, I always love to hear a fresh and unique take.
I struggle sitting still for long periods of time and often find my mind wondering when reading books of considerable length, so have tended towards narrated e-books to help keep me focused. It’s easy to forget about the importance of keeping your imagination alive, which is exactly what I’ve done since leaving school. To combat this, I’ve started re-listening to the Harry Potter books which I always found to be an amazing source of child-like wonder!
Engaging
It’s a rapidly evolving industry that I feel suits my strengths, allows me to continue to develop my personal skills and stay a relevant and useful member of society. Hopefully enabling me to repay, in part, the faith placed in me by those who have supported and encouraged me over the years.
I’ve always been very social and always enjoyed talking (a bit too much) to my friends and loved ones! When having a casual conversation with someone sometimes I can get distracted, focusing on connecting with that person on a personal level rather than focusing on the information. If they’re able to combine the words with visual accompaniments, then not only does that help me focus on the words as they’re being spoken but also helps me to remember details order of information.
Sega – “Genesis does what Nintendon’t”.– I love it because it’s cut-throat and competitive. It’s nice to look back on a time when competition was embraced, and companies were willing to stick their neck on the line and risk a shift in public opinion. Ultimately the campaign may not have been as effective as they would have hoped but it was very effective in sticking in my mind!
I like to start my day with some upbeat music, which alongside a shower helps me wake up and sets my mood for the rest of the day. If I’m feeling motivated, sometimes I squeeze in a quick kettle bell workout which makes it hard for me to get back into bed and be unproductive!
